Another option for Tuhituhi is to make a cartoon strip for a fiction text that you have read.
This could be something from your digital reading box or another book that you have read.
Here is an example template that you can use, but you can also create your own.
You don’t just need to use 8 boxes – you can use fewer or more.
You can write this on paper and stick it into your Tuhituhi book later.
You can also create a digital cartoon strip if you like.
Please share your work with me and I can post it on the blog.
If you write on paper, you can take photos of it.

If you have watched a movie during lockdown, you could do a movie review and share it with me.I will create a blog post for “Room 9 Movie Reviews”:
You don’t need to print this out.
You can use the same categories and write it on paper, take a photo of it and email it to me later.

Some of the reading challenges ask you to work on synonyms and antonyms.
I have given you some tasks to help you practise these:
I have already set a task called “NZC3 Synonyms/Antonyms”.
If you can’t access Education Perfect, please let me know. I will probably just need to reset your password.

The Tokyo Paralympics are on at the moment so here are a new piece of writing that you can try:
(from Twinkl.com)
Choose another paralympian and create a fact file like the example for Sophie Pascoe above.
You can either:
write a fact file above on a piece of paper and stick it into your Tuhituhi book later
Create a presentation on your Hamilton East School – save it in your Writing folder.

Remember to plan your writing first with a mind map!
If you cannot open the Google Slide, the main parts of your writing are:

You can write this one piece of paper and stick it into your Tuhituhi book later or publish it on your
Hamilton East School account. The rubric is below:
You could email your writing to another student or to me to be checked.

Remember to plan your writing first by brainstorming the basic steps and then numbering them!
If you cannot open the Google Slide, the different things you could write about are:
do or make something, find something or someone (directions), use something.
Think carefully about how these processes work.
The test for your writing is to draw pictures for each step after you have finished.
Would someone else be able to follow your process?
I have uploaded some Schonell spelling wordlists for levels 1, 2 and 4 which you can practise.
Start at Level 1 and see how far you can get – this is good practise for spelling tests!
These lessons will be available at 9AM on Monday.
If you can’t access Education Perfect but you would like to practise these spelling lists, please let me know.
